REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be available the entire work period of 3/15/26-11/15/26. Must agree to 45 hr work week. Employer will provide transportation from employer provided living quarters to work site every day. Must read, and agree to, all terms and conditions of employment prior to a referral to the employer.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 6 months of verifiable experience in all job duties. This job requires exposure to extreme temperatures, ability to lift 50 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, frequent stooping, extensive pushing and pulling, drug screen, criminal background check, certifications and driver requirements.

 JOB DUTIES: Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Crops/Commodities: nursery stock. Primary duties (performed the majority of workdays): First-line supervision and coordination of agricultural workers. Under the direction of farm management, assign tasks and monitor crop production operations. Train workers in techniques such as planting, cultivating, or harvesting and in use of safety measures. Train workers in safe equipment operation. Take directions from managers on work schedules, production requirements, and conditions of equipment and supplies. Maintain details of personnel actions. Operate employer's electronic time keeping system. First-line supervisors do not have direct hiring or firing authority, but may be asked by farm management to give warnings or take disciplinary action against works for safety or work rule violations. General Farm Labor: Some of the work required from the worker to be performed that is incidental to farming crops listed in this application may be described as performing hand cultivation duties, planting crops, transplanting (may include riding on a transplant machine), cutting spears and sorting, weeding or hoeing crops, cleaning, repairing seed beds and racks, setting up and moving irrigation pipes and equipment. Tasks the worker must be able to perform include: assist in pest controls; install culverts for field drainage; remove and reinstall sprinklers, remove debris, boxes, and discarded plants from fields to keep clean growing areas; general ranch maintenance; basic irrigation maintenance; clean and maintenance equipment and tools, assist in equipment cleaning, assist in applications by hand or tractor of fertilizers and or/pesticides; frost control of sprinklers, frost blanket coverings, or hoop coverings. May be necessary to assist in the use of farm equipment such as tractors, trucks and harvest machinery, etc. Weeding: Workers will remove weeds by use of a hoe/pickaxe from the walk-way and remove all weeds growing around plants by hand. Workers will remove weeds from the growing area by raking piles of debris and dispose of it as directed by the farm manager and or/crew supervisor. Perform general maintenance of field grown plants. Performs any other duties involved in the maintenance of plant materials and nursery stock and maintenance of holding yards and shipping areas. Manual tasks related to the growing of nursery stock will include some combination of the following: Plant, cultivate and maintains in condition for shipping and resale to customers, pot seedlings, prune, space, irrigates and culls plants to ensure availability of marketable products. Prepare fields for planting by clearing cull stock, brush and debris; propagate plants from cuttings; plant cuttings, seedlings or 'liners' by hand (including potting machine, riding and inserting liners in a mechanical planter); dig, load, unload or transplant bare-root nursery stock; straighten, tie, stake, prune and shear trees and shrubs (shearing conifers and evergreens must be performed with proper taper and angle of bud cut for quality); cut, pull, use string trimmer to remove and mow weeds or grass (weeds are to be removed by the root and not at ground level); assist with irrigation; spread topsoil and mulch. Transplant trees, shrubs and plants into containers; fill, lift and carry various size pots with soil and plants weighing as much as 50 pounds (plants must be handled carefully so that minimal leaves, limbs and roots are broken during transplanting process); water in nursery and seasonal holding houses and when potting; cover seasonal holding houses with plastic in fall using staple gun and nailing lathe; remove plastic from seasonal holding houses in spring assist with building seasonal holding houses; move irrigation equipment; spray herbicides and insecticides and apply fertilizer, hand hoe around nursery stock.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:

BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.

HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.

TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SITE: The employer will provide transportation for all workers living in the employer-provided housing to and from the daily work site(s).

WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: Provided.

TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
