Come work with senior-level professionals at an established A/E firm that values employee input and collaboration. Burgess & Niple is looking for a Bridge Design Project Manager to join our Columbus office.

B&N Bridge Design Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams in the completion of engineering calculations and plan preparation for bridge design and rehabilitation projects
  • Maintain quality control of the work product, manage risk and successfully complete projects on time and within budget
  • Mentor less experienced engineers to support their development into independent professionals
  • Work with B&N bridge staff to develop new and maintain current client relationships
  • Lead pursuits of bridge design projects, including client meetings, proposal preparation, and interviews
  • Leverage existing and cultivate new relationships with other consulting firms for successful project teaming and delivery
  • Actively participate in bridge related professional societies/organizations and conferences, including submitting presentation abstracts and award applications to fortify B&N’s bridge Engage in a collaborative work environment throughout B&N’s bridge design community, promoting knowledge sharing, work sharing and best practices

Skills & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited civil or structural or equivalent engineering program
  • Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) Registration or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six months
  • 20+ years of related bridge design with project and staff management experience
  • Microsoft Word & Excel (Microsoft Project a plus)
  • Bentley Open Bridge Designer, MDX, AASHTOWare BrR required
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with experience maintaining client relationships
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
