Manufacturing Operator
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of manufacturing equipment to safely produce quality products according to specifications. This role involves working with press machines, automated and semi‑automated equipment, assembly tools, and related machinery while adhering to established safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manufacturing equipment used to bend, form, stretch, and straighten materials according to blueprints, layouts, and templates
- Assist with setup and operation of automatic and/or multi‑slide equipment performing simultaneous production processes
- Read and follow drawings, order or route sheets, schedules, and written or verbal instructions
- Inspect materials to ensure correct size, type, identification, configuration, and color
- Assist with installation and adjustment of dies, tooling, forming blocks, stroke settings, and feed mechanisms
- Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, tape measures, scales, calculators, and fixed gauges to ensure products meet specifications
- Move materials using pallet jacks, lift trucks, or cranes (if qualified)
- Install and verify safety devices as required for specific jobs
- Report faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual conditions to supervision
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety rules and regulations at all times
- Perform other related duties as assigned, which may include extended hours or overtime based on operational needs
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to make informed decisions
- Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment and meet production deadlines
- Self‑motivated, safety‑conscious, and quality‑focused with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of general manufacturing processes
- Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Prior experience in a light industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Lift truck or powered industrial truck experience preferred

- Physically active role requiring standing, lifting, bending, and material handling
- Use of machinery, tools, and production equipment
