A large manufacturing company is seeking a Furnace Tender for a full-time position. Work hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Job Duties:
- Maintain and clean pots and furnaces
- Melt castings, runners, and gates, and skim off dross from pots
- Take raw metal bar stock to machines for production
- Deliver baskets or bins to die cast machines throughout day for production parts
- General foundry clean up including sweeping around die cast machines
- Operate a forklift
- Assist with set-up and will be cross trained as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Experience with molten metal is preferred
- Must be comfortable working in a hot and dirty foundry environment
- Must have steel toed boots and able to work on your feet for 10 hours
- Must be safety-conscious with an eye for detail
- Must have reliable transportation
