Summary
The temporary Paralegal position will support the Company in two key areas: 1) protecting the Company’s growing intellectual property portfolio and, 2) managing the execution of various business agreements necessary for growth and capturing new business opportunities. The work includes a variety of intellectual property docketing and administrative activities, reviewing and editing non-disclosure agreements, and assistance with other business legal documents for review by in-house counsel and senior management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Qualified Candidates will be able to:
- Perform in the fast-paced environment of a rapidly growing, innovative, entrepreneurially minded, small business
- Demonstrate attention to detail
- Communicate well both verbally and in writing within a team-oriented environment
- Work on multiple activities concurrently and prioritize assignments
- Demonstrate competence in basic computer usage including Word, Excel, and web-based forms and applications, Microsoft Teams, and in-house database modules
Intellectual Property
- Act as liaison between technical staff and outside counsel to schedule meetings and prepare and submit intellectual property documentation
- Create and maintain electronic patent dockets
- Maintain internal patent database
- Review time-sensitive incoming correspondence from the outside counsel
- Review and track actions and deadlines
- Correspond with outside intellectual property attorneys, paralegals, and legal secretaries
- Execute various intellectual property administrative activities, such as assign, execute, and track patents, and track maintenance fees
Business Legal Agreements
- Work closely with in-house counsel, the Contracts team and executive leadership (as needed) to draft and review legal documents, such as non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, and memoranda of understanding
- Review, edit, and track non-disclosure agreements
- Maintain internal document database
Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following skills, education and experience:
- Exclusive US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree, and/or paralegal certificate, or demonstrated equivalent
- 2+ years of intellectual property experience preferred
- Previous experience in a fast-paced environment of a rapidly growing small business is a plus

Salary Range: $40,000 – 70,000 depending on experience and skills; Full Time Temporary
