Job Description Summary

Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor position starting in the Fall 2026 semester to teach full-time, in-person courses in Accountancy at the undergraduate level.

Job Description

Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach 12 credit hours per semester (four sections) of undergraduate accountancy classes in the Fall 2026 and in the Spring 2027 semesters. Assigned courses may be in one of the following topic areas depending on student demand and expertise of the faculty member in the position: financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, tax, accounting information systems.

The Department of Accountancy currently has approximately 150 graduates per year, and consists of approximately 25 members included tenured/tenure-track faculty, teaching professors/lecturers, part-time instructors, and staff members. The Department values high-quality teaching and research. The Farmer School of Business has approximately 1,200 graduates per year. Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Doctorate in Accounting or closely related field by date of appointment for rank of Visiting Assistant Professor; Master’s degree in Accounting or closely related field by date of appointment or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field plus a minimum of four years experience in professional services firms and/or in industry, non-profit, or government accounting-related position plus evidence of teaching excellence for rank of Instructor.

Consideration may be given to candidates with demonstrated quality collegiate teaching experience and a proven ability to teach accounting content effectively. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to engaging students in both foundational and advanced accounting concepts.
