Summary of Position
Teaches undergraduate courses in fundamentals and/or medical-surgical nursing in the classroom, clinic, and lab as well as scenario simulation. Creates an active and dynamic learning environment by performing evidence-based teaching and evaluation of students. Provides ongoing evaluation of students’ knowledge and progression in cognitive, psychomotor and affective skills. Participates in service and engagement activities that support the program, department, college, university.
Supports student progression in academics and socialization into the role of nursing. Works with the simulation coordinator to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical scenarios with the simulation laboratory environment. Actively participates in a systemic plan for curriculum design, program evaluation and accreditation needs. Participates in mentoring, advising, and registering students for nursing courses. Participates in recruitment events, retention and successful progression of students within the program. Commitment to working with a variety of student and community populations while building an inclusive educational environment. Participates in School of Nursing, college, and University service and abides by all policies.
Per Ohio Board of Nursing Rule: 4723-5-09, if a program has more than one location, that is greater than 60 miles from original program, an associate administrator needs to be onsite.
The associate administrator will comply with the Centofanti School of Nursing philosophy, conceptual framework of organizing themes, program objectives/outcomes, curriculum and all policies. The associate administrator shall have the accountability and responsibility for the program at the Steubenville location.
Faculty members are expected to maintain a consistent, in-person presence on location throughout the standard workweek. This includes being available on-site each day to support students, collaborate with colleagues, and participate fully in the academic life of the institution. Regular on-site engagement during normal business hours is an essential component of this role.
Position Information
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse license (RN).
Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited university; three or more years of experience as a practicing registered nurse; one or more years teaching in a nursing program; and an unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse license (RN).
Preferred Qualifications: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or PhD in a healthcare field. Two or more years of experience teaching undergraduate courses in fundamentals and/or medical-surgical nursing in the classroom, clinic and lab. Experience in advanced medical -surgical teaching, scenario simulation. Documented experience in one specialty nursing area such as obstetrics, pediatrics, or mental health.
