Lead advance Body Frame Assembly equipment feasibility study for New Model Body in White construction from styling sketch through 1st drawing issue. Create strategy and plan for study, specification and equipment concept. Report New Model equipment content to Project Leadership and Business Unit Mgmt. Lead Manufacturing Assembly New Model equipment verification check list requirements and drawing maturation across N.A. DEBQ functions. Conceive and lead the development of New Model Assembly Equipment specifications and process plan from 1st drawing to Die GO. Provide direct technical guidance and oversight to downstream customers to ensure successful design and production deliverables are met. Monitor Design Change through drawing maturation. Body Frame Assembly equipment Zone Technical expert across all of the companies’ automotive factories. Teach expertise to Team and support cross functionally collaboration across Business Units. Prepare and present presentations on specific technical challenges driving value added engineering solutions. Lead complex manufacturing category problem analysis, determine root causes, recommend corrective action, and set SAP (Specific Action Plan) in the New Model development. Project leadership related to Business Plan improvement, lead Team activity through SAP and milestone achievements and report results to Business Unit Management. 10% domestic and international travel required.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or Industrial Engineering; 5 years of relevant professional experience; 5 years of engineering experience with Equipment/Tool New Model; 5 years of experience using operating MS Office Suite software to prepare effective and concise presentations to communicate equipment impact to engineers and management; 3 years of experience using Catia V5 modeling software to review equipment impact from new product designs; 18 months of experience using Catia V6 modeling software to review equipment impact from new product designs and develop concepts for equipment; and 1 year of experience using basic functions of CAE analysis to determine capability of equipment design.
