Outpatient Dermatology
Work Type: Full-Time 36 hours per week
Schedule: 08:00-16:30, with hours varying based on clinic needs, 5 days one week and 4 days the next
Location: Burnet, Liberty and neighborhood locations such as (Eastgate, Green Township, Union, Mason, Mobile Care Center, Centerville)
Cincinnati Children's is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse II to join our Outpatient Dermatology team. Our dermatology clinic provides comprehensive care for children with a wide range of skin conditions-from common concerns to rare and complex disorders-while offering an exceptional family-centered experience. This nurse partners closely with dermatologists and advanced practice providers to support patient visits, provide education, coordinate care, and ensure smooth clinic operations. You will build meaningful relationships with patients and families while helping them navigate treatments, procedures, and ongoing care needs.
✨ Responsibilities
Provide professional nursing care during outpatient dermatology visits, including assessment, triage, wound care, medication administration, and procedure support.
Offer education to patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, skincare routines, and follow-up expectations.
Coordinate care across providers, departments, and external partners to ensure seamless patient experiences.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support clinic flow, manage patient throughput, and maintain a safe environment.
Perform telephone triage, respond to MyChart messages, and follow up with families regarding concerns, results, and care instructions.
Maintain accurate documentation in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinic-based projects.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with active Ohio RN license
Two years nursing experience required
Minimum of two years of pediatric & ambulatory nursing experience preferred
Dermatology experience preferred but not required training provided
Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic outpatient environment

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Compliance - Patient Services Staff - Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Support leadership in Compliance efforts to meet and sustain the regulatory compliance efforts of the department and hospital. Be mindful and judicious in monitoring safety and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis. Work with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices. Be mindful of CCHMCs processes and compliance with CMS standards and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to leadership team members.
* Interprofessional Practice - Demonstrates consistent integration of the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) in all aspects of practice.
* Clinical inquiry & performance review to improve practice - Follows standards and guidelines; implements clinical changes and research-based practic
