Court IT Support Specialist
The Court of Common Pleas, General Division, is seeking an individual to serve as a Court IT Support Specialist for the Information Technology Department. The essential duties are to serve as the primary point of contact for daily, unscheduled technology support requests across all court facilities, providing frontline help desk and break-fix support. This position is dedicated to ensuring court staff receive timely, courteous, and effective assistance with technology issues, enabling the Court IT Supervisors and Court IT Director to focus on long-term projects, system administration, and planned technology initiatives.
Responsibilities include serving as the first point of contact for all incoming technology support requests from court staff across both the Courthouse and Bow Building. Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, peripheral, and basic network connectivity issues in a timely manner. Performing desktop support tasks including workstation setup, software installation, printer troubleshooting, and user account assistance. Logging, tracking, and documenting all support requests and resolutions using an established ticketing system. Escalating complex or systemic issues to the appropriate Court IT Supervisor or the Court IT Director as needed. Providing on-site support at both facilities on a rotating or as-needed basis to meet daily operational demands. Assisting with routine IT tasks such as asset management, supply stocking, and basic system maintenance. Delivering technology orientation and basic training to new court staff as directed. Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach to all interactions with court personnel. Supporting special events, courtroom setups, and ad hoc technology needs as assigned.
Qualifications: Must be able to successfully pass a BCI and FBI Background Check for LEADS (Law Enforcement Automated Data System). An associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two (2) or more years of experience in technical support is required. Must possess proficiency in Windows desktop environments, networking fundamentals, and standard office productivity applications. Strong interpersonal communication skills with a focus on service delivery and end-user satisfaction are essential. Must be able to prioritize and manage support requests and be willing to travel between court facilities as needed. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Unusual working conditions: Position requires travel between the Courthouse and Bow Building facilities.
