Position Purpose:



Lead the flow of work and support the Material Supervisor with the operation of material handling within the department and plant.



Major Responsibilities:




* Support the department Materials Supervisor/Manager through efforts to achieve the departmental and company goals. Serve as an example for other employees in the department.


* Loads and unloads trucks with either incoming or outgoing materials. Inventories/counts and moves raw and finished materials from the production floor or storage areas to their intended destination.


* Operates the company truck to move materials to or from plant.


* Unloads steel trucks as they arrive and moves steel to storage areas.


* Operates sit-down lift and high-reach lift trucks as necessary to store or deliver materials.


* Accurately reports daily activities as required.


* Material flow, presentation and replenishment experience preferred.


* Knowledge of inventory control processes such as cycle counting and scrap reporting are preferred.


* Inventories, prepares and packages aftermarket materials for shipment.


* Proficient in using handheld scanner and/or pc to perform inventory transactions.


* Coordinates UPS shipments and receipts.


* Keeps work areas clean and free of hazards.


* Exercises safe work habits


* Maintain a clean safety record for operating all material handling equipment.


* Performs other duties as assigned by the Materials Supervisor.


Qualifications:




* High School Diploma/GED required


* 5 years' experience in material handling or shipping and receiving preferred.


* Knowledge of MRP II concepts, practices, and procedures helpful.


* Ability to work overtime, as production demands require


* Good interpersonal skills and must be able to work with minimal supervision.


* Positive attitude and the ability to lead by example; must embrace our core values of ACTT.
