Position Summary
Sabel Systems is seeking a Summer Cyber Center of Excellence (CoE) Intern to support emerging cybersecurity, automation, and artificial intelligence initiatives within a government contracting (GovCon) environment. This 10-week paid summer internship, with participation available between May 18, 2026, and September 11, 2026, is ideal for students pursuing degrees in cybersecurity, computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering, or related technical fields who want exposure to cutting-edge technologies supporting mission-driven programs.
As part of Sabel’s Cyber CoE, interns will work alongside technical experts supporting initiatives related to system automation, large language model (LLM) adoption, and cybersecurity tool development, gaining hands-on experience with modern security and engineering practices in a collaborative technical environment.
Interns participate full-time (40 hours per week) aligned to Eastern Time Zone business hours and work in a hybrid environment, supporting one to three days per week onsite at our Beavercreek, OH, or Denver, CO, offices.
Work You’ll Do
As a Cyber CoE Intern, you will work with cybersecurity engineers, architects, and technical specialists to explore and support emerging technologies that improve system automation, security posture, and operational efficiency. You may contribute to initiatives related to system automation, LLM-enabled capabilities, and cybersecurity tooling, while gaining exposure to real-world development, experimentation, and security operations practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Support development and testing of tools and scripts that automate cybersecurity and system administration processes
- Assist with research and experimentation related to LLM adoption and AI-assisted workflows
- Contribute to the development of internal cybersecurity utilities, scripts, or prototype tools supporting security operations and engineering efforts
- Support containerized environments and assist with basic system administration tasks related to container platforms
- Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers, architects, and technical teams to document findings, improvements, and technical processes
- Conduct cybersecurity research and information gathering on emerging technologies, threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive capabilities
- Support technical documentation, testing activities, and prototype validation efforts related to cybersecurity tools and automation solutions
- Assist with the development and refinement of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices supporting DoD and organizational security initiatives
