NOTICE OF POSITION OPENING

 


POSITION TITLE: REENTRY PROGRAM EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST

 

The Court of Common Pleas, General Division, is seeking an individual to serve as Employment Specialist for the Reentry Program. The primary purpose of this position is, under the direct supervision of the Re-Entry Program Director and the general supervision of the Deputy Court Administrator, to prepare the participants of the following programs: Reentry Court, Targeted Community Alternatives to Prison (T-CAP) and Theft Intervention Program (TIP) to the appropriate potential employers.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to facilitation of Employment Skills Training classes for Reentry Court, T-CAP and TIP participants. Identification of appropriate employers for all the probation participants. Matching of potential Reentry Program, T-CAP and TIP participants to appropriate employers. Serve as a liaison between employers, Reentry Court, the T-CAP Probation Officer and the TIP Probation Officer. Maintain an atmosphere conducive to the program philosophy and in regard to the dignity and right of the clients in the program. Maintain accurate records and statistical data; submission of other reports as required. Establishment and maintenance of viable and effective relationships with the Court, Jail and Probation/Parole Officers. Assure strict confidentiality with respect to all information, including participants information regarding the operations of the Reentry Court and the TIP Court. Attendance and participation to various workshops and seminars to effectively communicate with program participants, and to keep abreast of Reentry, T-CAP and TIP programs. Represent the Reentry Court and TIP Court in the community and participate in meetings as required. Report any concerns or recommendations to the Reentry Court Program Director, Deputy Court Administrator, Court Administrator and/or the Administrative Judge. Various other related duties may become necessary or as directed by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications: Must possess an associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience.

Must possess minimum of 3 years’ experience in criminal justice or social services.

 

Unusual working conditions: you will be working with justice involved clientele.
