Engineer Principal – Testing sought by Schaeffler Transmission Systems, LLC in Wooster, OH.
Position Duties: Conduct all activities required for validation & verification (V&V), for products and contained system, mechanical, Electrical Engineering (E/E) or software elements. Contribute to the development and implementation of a suitable verification and validation strategy at the defined integration levels based on given standards. Contribute to the development and implementation of verification and validation activities in accordance with given standards including testing of virtual or physical objects, static analyses and simulation. Contribute to the exchange of development-related information and collaboration with internal/external development partners such as system, E/E- or software development, or providers of equipment and tools such as test rigs, test environment for MIL-, SIL-, PIL, HIL-tests, or customers. Apply given verification or validation processes including ISTQB Foundation Level.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offered, as an Engineer Senior - Product Development, Head of R&D Testing, or a related position. Must have seven (7) years of experience with: Contributing to the development and implementation of a suitable verification and validation strategy at the defined integration levels based on given standards; Contributing to the exchange of development-related information and collaboration with internal/external development partners including system, E/E- or software development, or providers of equipment and tools including test rigs, test environment for MIL-, SIL-, PIL-, HIL- tests, or customers; Design Verification Plan (DVP), Product Verification Plan (PVP), Return part investigation, product failure analysis, failure simulation and benchmarking support for competition products; Risk analysis and Design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA); Functional safety of mechatronic development; Writing test specification and release; Modelling and simulating mechanical, electric, or mechatronic development; Processing and analyzing the test data through FAMOS and SARA software; Budget and investment planning for R&D testing; Reduction of overseas test service cost; Creating new test facilities as part of a "local for local" initiative; and planning and managing project resources, ensuring optimization of costs and productivity. Travel required to various and unanticipated Schaeffler locations and client sites throughout the U.S., up to 5%. Telecommuting permitted two (2) days per week.
