REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be available the entire work period of 06/15/2026-10/02/2026. Must agree to work Mon-Fri, 6 hours per day, Sat, 6 hours. Employer will provide transportation from employer provided living quarters to work site every day. Must read, and agree to, all terms and conditions of employment prior to a referral to the employer.

OPENINGS: 56

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 1 months of verifiable experience in all job duties. This job requires exposure to extreme temperatures, ability to lift 30 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, frequent stooping, extensive pushing and pulling.

JOB DUTIES: Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities.

Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor, including cucumber washing and grading. For harvesting, the worker will pick one row at a time into a 5/8 bushel bucket (20 to 35 lbs) and, once the bucket is three-quarters full, must turn around and dump it onto a self-propelled conveyor belt, repeating the process until the daily patch is picked. During sorting, workers will stand at a moving belt to remove imperfect cucumbers and throw them onto a cull belt; additionally, they may be required to assemble large cardboard boxes for packing.

General Maintenance: Workers on physical work restrictions or when harvesting work is not available may be required to perform miscellaneous clean-up work on work site property, on structures utilized in the work site operation, and on housing for harvesting workers. Such clean-up activities include the sprouting, pruning, and application of protective trunk coating; debris, weed, and vine removal; irrigation repair; housing and structure cleaning and repair.

Workers must be able to perform strenuous manual labor outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain, for a minimum of six (6) hours per day. The position requires physical strength and endurance to bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods, as well as manual dexterity to repetitively use hands at a sustained pace to meet production standards. The employer will provide all necessary tools and equipment at no charge to the worker. Consistent with applicable law, the employer may recover the reasonable cost of repair or replacement of tools if damage results from the worker’s willful misconduct or gross negligence after the damage has occurred and after gaining the employee's written authorization to make the deduction. At its sole discretion, the employer may pay a higher wage rate based on individual performance or tenure, which does not alter the entry-level requirements of this position.

When production needs require, the employer may offer hours in excess of the daily or weekly schedule stated in the ETA-790. These additional hours are strictly voluntary and not guaranteed; no worker is required to work beyond the contracted hours, on federal holidays, or on their Sabbath, and no worker will be penalized for declining such work. Due to the nature of agriculture, workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work due to weather, crop maturity, or other conditions beyond the employer's control. These periods may occur at any time throughout the season. In the event of a worker-requested leave of absence during periods of available work, all missed hours will be deducted from the actual hours worked but will be credited as "hours offered" toward the fulfillment of the three-quarter guarantee. Workers are responsible for providing their own suitable work clothing.

A written copy of the work contract, or in the absence of a separate written agreement, the certified ETA Form 790/790A which constitutes the work contract, including any approved modifications, will be provided at no cost to the worker in a language the worker understands. For H-2A workers, the contract will be provided no later than the time of visa application. For workers in corresponding employment, the contract will be provided no later than the first day of work. For H-2A workers transferring to a subsequent H-2A employer, the contract will be provided no later than the time the subsequent offer of employment is made. The employer will maintain documentation evidencing provision of the contract in accordance with applicable federal recordkeeping requirements.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:

BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.

HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.

TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.

ALL ASSURANCES AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT MUST BE REVIEWED BY THE JOB SEEKER PRIOR TO REFERRAL TO THE EMPLOYER. THEY ARE AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW AT YOUR NEAREST OhioMeansJobs Centers.
