Description

The Specialist, Admissions & Career Services serves as a primary point of contact for students, graduates, and the community in areas related to recruitment, outreach, college visits, career opportunities and career preparation. The Specialist communicates with prospective and current students, as well as alumni, regarding career-focused opportunities to support recruitment and enrollment objectives. This role assists in educating faculty, staff, students, and applicants about the importance of early career planning. The Specialist collaborates with various departments to provide career advising to students and participates in college recruiting events. Additionally, the position is responsible for managing recruitment efforts within a designated territory and following up on enrollment leads. The Specialist focuses on recruiting both College Credit Plus students and traditional students through communication campaigns, events, and representing Clark State at various events.

 

 Shift: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm. Evenings and weekends, as needed.

 Location: Springfield Location

 This position is eligible for limited telecommuting opportunity on Fridays, with approval. This is subject to change per College needs.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities


  • Facilitates and maintains relations with area school district staff, businesses, college faculty, administration, and students to increase enrollment in pre-college and undergraduate enrollment.
  • Counsels students and families regarding the general college search process, aspects of college life, admissions process, career exploration, admissions procedures, academic programs, financial aid, career advising, and registration processes.
  • Plans and implements on-campus events, tours, and Admissions activities (such as Discovery Days, large high school tours, Signing Day, etc.). Coordinates with schools, faculty, and staff for event planning. Works as institution liaison to assist in coordinating Clark State attendance at county specific events. 
  • Manages recruitment efforts assigned to local Career Centers (such as Springfield-Clark CTC, Greene County CC, and Ohio Hi-Point) and other schools as assigned
  • Oversees calling campaign design, flow, completion, and follow up as scheduled.
  • Leads recruiting/conversion efforts of students completing Early College Programs, specifically, College Credit Plus students at time of high school graduation.  
  • Maintains current knowledge of college programs, tuition assistance programs, activities, career opportunities, and opportunities to effectively communicate to prospective students.
  • Utilizes CRM to document, communicate and track applicants to enrollment.
  • Collaborates with high school partners within Clark State’s Early College Programs serving staff, faculty, students, and parents with a high level of customer service and collaboration.
  • Develops communication and recruitment activities for CCP students to become undergraduate students working with all Enrollment Services Offices.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and Skills


Experience

Six months to two years of similar or related experience. 


Education

(1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Requires travel to multiple campus locations; a valid driver’s license and/or dependable transportation is required.

Physical Requirements


The work requires minor physical exertion such as short periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven surfaces, some recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. Job may require recurring lifting of lightweight objects with infrequent bending or stooping alternating with the lighter activities. Job requires minimal agility and dexterity.
