Regular Schedule: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Pay Range: 33,000 – 35,000
Position Summary: Under the administration direction of the County Treasurer, this position will be expected to work positively with the public and county staff on a daily basis, be accountable of all monies that flow through the Treasurer's Office, and directly assist the County Treasurer in the operations of all functions in the Treasurer's office.
Job Description & Duties:
· Working with the public and county staff in a friendly and courteous manner on a daily basis.
· Accepting and processing payments of various types and payment methods. Includes payment batching.
· Efficient and accurate handling of cash transactions, including tax payments and money received daily from all county departments.
· Operate with efficiency and accuracy tax software and accounting programs along with Excel, Word, and 10 key calculator. (Attention to detail is paramount).
· Reconciling and balancing of all transactions daily.
· Maintaining mailing addresses includes processing changes and researching returned mail.
· Semi-annual preparation of real estate and manufactured home tax bills and preparation of delinquent bills.
· Lender file preparation, updates, and file processing.
· Daily processing of mail, answering the phones, and emails in a pleasant & informative manner.
· Work with the Chief Deputy of Collections and Prosecutor's office on collection of delinquent tax accounts.
· Setting up and maintaining monthly payment plans and escrow programs.
· Managing taxpayers on autopay programs.
· Keeping procedure manuals current.
· Balance RE and MH and work with the Auditor's office on settlement.
· Account administration and processing of transactions.
· Misc items such as conveyance forms, tax exempt forms, foreclosure filings, bankruptcy proof of claims, remission of penalty forms, fire loss claims, tax prorations, etc.
· Cross Training and support coverage on other duties in the Treasurer’s office.
· Completing any other tasks assigned by the County Treasurer or Chief Deputy Treasurer.
