Job Description

IT Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to lead the planning, design, and implementation of complex network infrastructures. This role is a blend of high-level systems architecture and hands-on technical support, ensuring the reliability of application hardware, software, and security systems across both office and manufacturing environments.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between core infrastructure and shop-floor operations, managing everything from server virtualization to hardware troubleshooting in a fast-paced production setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Analyze, design, and maintain LAN/WAN connectivity, SAN storage technologies (CIFS, NFS, iSCSI), and virtual desktop environments.
  • Systems Support: Act as the primary technical lead for hardware and software implementation, ensuring system reliability through proactive redundancy, backups, and security protocols.
  • Manufacturing Operations: Support shop-floor hardware, including PCs, printers, and barcode labelers. Integrate PLC networks and manage plant cabling infrastructure.
  • Application Development: Handle the integration and testing of internal applications using C#, VB.Net, and ASP.Net. Assist in the continuous improvement of ERP systems (CMS).
  • User Support & Administration: Provide "helpdesk" support for office and plant users, manage on-boarding/off-boarding, and maintain network accounts and security credentials.
  • Project Oversight: Manage IT projects to ensure development targets are met, coordinate with external contractors, and maintain software assurance contracts.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all activities comply with industry quality standards (TS16949, ISO14001) and safety regulations (OSHA).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of work-related experience, specifically within a manufacturing or automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: * OS/Servers: Microsoft Windows OS, Exchange, and SQL Server.
  • Networking: Complex TCP/IP, VLAN management, WiFi, DHCP, DNS, and Routers/Switches.
  • Development: RDBMS (MS SQL Server), C#, VB.Net, and ASP.Net.
  • Systems Knowledge: Experience with ERP/MRP systems (CMS experience is highly preferred) and EDI systems administration.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise mature judgment.

Desired Assets

  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, WinForms, or ASP.Net MVC.
  • Familiarity with SSIS, LINQ, and Razor.
  • Prior experience with PLC network integration.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work flexible hours and provide on-call availability for work-related emergencies.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
