Assembly Technician – Job Description & Qualifications

Position Overview

A growing technology company in the robotics and automation space is seeking a hands-on, motivated Assembly Technician. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy building, working with tools, and learning new mechanical and electrical skills on the job. The Assembly Technician will work alongside experienced team members to assemble and test robotic vehicle-mounted systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in assembling robotic systems using mechanical, electrical, and computer components
  • Operate hand and power tools (wrenches, drills, etc.)
  • Drill, bolt, and modify metal components as needed
  • Install and crimp electrical and Ethernet connectors
  • Assist with pneumatic and electrical system setup
  • Follow assembly drawings, schematics, instructions, and safety procedures
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Provide basic customer or technical support as needed

Skills Needed

  • Basic hand and shop tool use (mechanical and electrical)
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, drawings, and diagrams
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assembly skills
  • Basic testing and troubleshooting skills
  • Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Participation in robotics programs (such as FIRST Robotics) is a plus

Hours & Compensation

  • Start date: As early as June 2026
  • Schedule: Full-time | 5 days/week | 8 hours/day | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Pay: $25 per hour
  • Benefits may include paid time off and medical/dental insurance
  • Additional perks may be offered
