Eligibility Referral Specialist II

About the Job

Fayette County Job and Family Services is looking for an Eligibility Referral Specialist II in our public assistance program area.

 

CORE DUTIES:

Conduct interviews with SNAP, OWF and Medicaid applicants via phone or in-person and explain additional requirements needed to complete process.

Work individual program budgets to establish eligibility determination.

Process documentation received to ensure continued eligibility, case changes, eligibility renewal and reports.

Enter data into state eligibility system.

Prepare case documentation for State Hearings if necessary.

Maintain accurate case documentation for approval or denial of benefits.

Make referrals to other programs and services.

Provides customer service on Shared Service Line by assisting in application process, interviewing and answering questions.

 

NECESSARY SKILLS:

Strong skills in communication and business math

Be able to identify problems with complex variables, analyze, evaluate & draw valid conclusions

 Maintain accuracy while handling a constantly fluctuating workload

Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information

Proficient in computer systems and data entry.

Ability to sit for longer periods of time.

Ability to handle stressful situations and sometimes difficult clients

Valid driver’s license and maintain insurance under the County’s vehicle insurance policy.
