Volt is immediately hiring a Painter in Mansfield, OH 44906
SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision the Sandblaster must be able to correctly blaster all parts per customer specification and facility quality requirements.
Responsibilities include
* Operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, and or sandblast to remove corrosion, otherwise prepare fabricated steel items for application of paint and or other protective coatings.
* Operate spray, dip, and flow coating equipment or other painting or product coating equipment as required.
* Paint small and large items and apply touch-ups.
* Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment.
* Prepare and apply stencils as required to finished products
* Take environmental reading prior to and during the painting and coating process.
* Ability to fill out and coordinate paperwork flow.
* Operate overhead cranes and or forklifts.
* Maintain respirator per established program.
* Move material in and out of booth.
* Store paint safely - rotate stock.
* Measure paint thickness accurately.
* Change paint filters as needed.
* Maintain clean, safe, environmentally friendly work environment.
* Shall be required to cross-train as painter and fill in as instructed.
* Maintain Inspection logs.
* Maintain VOC logs.
* Maintain Cleaning schedule.
* Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* 3 years painting experience (preferred)
* Have or be able to get a propane and electric lift truck license. (job requirement)
* Have or be able to be respirator approved (including medical, written and fit test) (job requirement)
* Good communication/people skills (job requirement)
* Common mathematical functions in relation to production needs
* Shall be required to pass DOT, RCRA, HAZWOPER 16hr certifications (job requirement)
Job Requirements
* Frequent walking and climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain)
* Lift up to 30 lbs. regularly - 40 lbs. intermittently.
* Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions.
* Use of hands.
* Able to work from floor level to 15 ft. with no restrictions.
* Able to sand and mask equipment prior to paint.
* Able to touch-up paint as needed or instructed
* Positions require perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment, bending, standing, twisting, climbing or walking continuously throughput shift.
* Positions require to safely use manual tools and power equipment.
* Positions require to handle hazardous materials safely.
* Wear a Respirator in the following categories.
* Paint Loose Fitting and or Helmet Hood
* ½ Face
* Full Face
* CE Blasting Helmet
* Will perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Range:? $18.21/hr. - $20.21/hr.
