Summary of Job Responsibilities



Area of Accountability:



Works as a member of the Materials department to assist in the operation of material handling.



Major Responsibilities:



* Loads and unloads trucks with either incoming or outgoing materials. Inventories/counts and moves raw and finished materials from the production floor or storage areas to their intended destination.


* Operates the company truck to move materials to or from plant.


* Unloads steel trucks as they arrive and moves steel to storage areas.


* Operates sit-down lift and high-reach lift trucks as necessary to store or deliver materials.


* Accurately reports daily activities as required.


* Material flow, presentation and replenishment experience preferred.


* Knowledge of inventory control processes such as cycle counting and scrap reporting are preferred.


* Inventories, prepares and packages aftermarket materials for shipment.


* Proficient in using handheld scanner and/or pc to perform inventory transactions.


* Coordinates UPS shipments and receipts.


* Keeps work areas clean and free of hazards.


* Exercises safe work habits


* Maintain a clean safety record for operating all material handling equipment.


* Performs other duties as assigned by the Area Leader or Supervisor.


Qualifications:




* Must be able to read and write legibly


* Must be able to become forklift certified


* Ability to work overtime, as production demands require


* Ability to function as an effective team member


* Ability to follow operation procedures and assess problems and recommend solutions to resolve problems


* Must be able to meet production standards and follow instructions


* Must be able to physically lift 40 lbs.


* Prior forklift experience a plus
