REPORTS TO: Transloading Supervisor

Company Overview

D&D Ingredients LLC is a leading contract manufacturer and ingredient supplier in the animal feed and pet food industries. We are looking for a dependable, hands-on leader to oversee our rail and transloading operations and help drive safe, efficient, and accurate material movement across the facility.

Position Summary

Full-Time | On-Site

Work with the Rail Lead / Transloading Supervisor for daily rail operations and transloading activities, ensuring products are moved safely, efficiently, and accurately between railcars, trucks, and storage.

This role is a working position that sets the pace—coordinating the team, keeping operations moving, and making sure safety, quality, and production goals are met.

Success in this role comes from strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to keep rail operations running smoothly day in and day out.

Key Responsibilities

Rail & Transloading Operations

  • Lead day-to-day rail operations including sorting railcars, unloading railcars, loading trucks, staging, and product movement
  • Coordinate daily workload and assign tasks to keep operations moving efficiently
  • Ensure loads are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Monitor workflow and adjust as needed to avoid delays or downtime
  • Work closely with production, shipping, and other transloading teams
  • Hours are Monday–Friday 6:00am to 3:30pm

Safety Leadership

  • Set the standard for safe work practices on the rail and in transloading
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately
  • Promote accountability and awareness across the team

Inventory & Material Handling

  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of materials
  • Maintain organized staging areas for efficient loading
  • Support accurate tracking of rail and bulk inventory
  • Work with inventory team to reduce errors, waste, and product loss

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and support transloading team members daily
  • Train employees on equipment, procedures, and safety expectations
  • Hold team members accountable to performance and safety standards
  • Build a strong, reliable, and team-oriented work environment

Efficiency & Improvement

  • Identify and eliminate wasted time, movement, and inefficiencies
  • Help improve processes to increase throughput and consistency
  • Communicate improvement ideas to leadership

Communication & Coordination

  • Keep clear communication between rail, production, and shipping
  • Report issues, delays, and updates as they happen
  • Work alongside other supervisors to keep operations aligned

Quality & Customer Focus

  • Ensure all loads meet customer specifications
  • Address and correct any loading errors quickly
  • Maintain professionalism with drivers, carriers, and partners

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in rail operations, transloading, or bulk material handling are a plus
  • Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of safety in an industrial setting
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in agriculture, feed, or manufacturing preferred
  • Equipment experience (trackmobile, forklift, loader, trucks etc.) is a plus
