Job Description

Solar Project Manager

Company: ARP Solar Location: Southeastern Ohio Employment Type: Full-Time Pay: $35+/hr depending on experience

About Us

ARP Solar is an independently owned and operated installer of solar power systems and storage solutions located in Southeastern Ohio. We have been proudly serving Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky communities since 2008. At ARP Solar, we're not just about solar — we are about empowering our communities with reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions. We believe that solar power is the key to a brighter and cleaner future, and we're here to make that future accessible.

Our values guide everything we do: Honesty Matters, People Matter, and We Have Fun. We believe safety is as constant as gravity, that empowered people empower communities, and that a bias for action and a passion for results is what sets us apart.

Job Description

We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented Solar Project Manager to own the full project lifecycle from development through closeout. In this role, you'll be the central point of coordination between our engineering partners, operations team, and field crews — ensuring every project is well-planned, compliantly permitted, safely executed, and successfully commissioned. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership of your work, and enjoy seeing a project through from start to finish, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the development, pre-construction, and closeout stages of solar PV and battery storage projects
  • Research and coordinate interconnection requirements with utilities and relevant authorities
  • Identify and manage permitting requirements across jurisdictions, including any special considerations unique to each project
  • Develop project plan sets in collaboration with our third-party engineering partners, ensuring accuracy and code compliance
  • Build detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) for each project to support procurement
  • Coordinate with the VP of Construction to schedule installations and align field resources
  • Ensure successful system commissioning, final inspections, and project closeout documentation
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal teams, customers, and external partners throughout the project lifecycle
  • Track project progress using project management platforms and maintain organized digital records
  • Uphold and promote safety standards across all stages of project planning and execution

Qualifications

  • Experience in solar project management, construction management, or a closely related field
  • Familiarity with solar PV system design, permitting processes, and utility interconnection requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical diagrams, and plan sets
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with project management software
  • Knowledge of NEC, IBC, and relevant building codes is a plus

Benefits

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Health insurance after 60 days
  • PTO after 1 year
  • Opportunities for professional growth in the renewable energy field
  • A team that lives its values — honest, people-focused, and driven to make a difference in the communities we serve
