The Pickaway County Department of Job & Family Services is seeking a compassionate and reliable
Part-Time Child Welfare Transporter to join our team. In this meaningful role, you will provide safe and timely transportation for children and families involved in the child welfare system, supporting case workers and ensuring children reach their destinations with dignity and care.
Key Responsibilities
Transport children and families to and from appointments, placements, visitations, court hearings, and other child welfare-related destinations Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of all passengers during transport Maintain accurate transport logs, mileage records, and documentation as required
Communicate professionally with case workers, foster families, biological families, and agency staff
Adhere to all county policies, traffic laws, and child safety regulations at all times
Report any concerns regarding child safety or welfare to the appropriate caseworker immediately
Keep county vehicles clean, fueled, and in proper operating condition; report maintenance needs promptly Maintain confidentiality of all client information in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies
Schedule & Working Conditions
This is a part-time position with a variable schedule designed to meet the needs of the children and families we serve:
Hours will vary based on agency needs and caseload demands
Weekend availability is required - some Saturday and/or Sunday shifts will be scheduled Flexibility is essential; schedules may change with short notice to respond to emergencies
Local travel throughout the county and surrounding areas is required
Minimum Requirements
Valid Ohio driver's license with a clean driving abstract (no major violations within the past 3 years)
Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check Must pass a pre-employment and random drug screening
Minimum age of 18 years High school diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to safely transport passengers including children of all ages
Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor
