Job Description

As a Design Drafter II, you will be responsible for developing, detailing, and performing graphic work for new product development and product revision using standard drafting techniques through PTC (Creo), Windchill PDM, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3D printing software.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed drawings and solid models of complex parts and assemblies for new product development and customer support, following the direction of engineers.
  • Control CAD and engineering files in Windchill PDM software using typical departmental processes.
  • Prepare exploded view assembly drawings of complex products and components.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once. Able to be a team leader in work output.
  • Prepare artistic graphic work for product quotations, application sheets, and catalog illustrations, and/or visual aids for departmental use.
  • Work directly with engineers and other departmental personnel to adequately document product design documents.
  • Operate PTC (Creo), Windchill PDM, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3D printing software.
  • Ability to run drawing copy machine.
  • Maintenance and control of CAD and drafting files.
  • Set up, run, and maintain 3D printing equipment.
  • Assist with the production of 2D drawings of residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar project layouts per customer requirements, with details and standard and oblique views as needed.


 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associate degree in mechanical drafting, engineering technology, or equivalent related experience.
  • Specialized computer, drafting, and modeling coursework or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of modeling and/or drafting experience using 3D and 2D CAD software.
  • Experience using PTC products (Creo and Windchill) is preferred.
  • Ability to use a computer and applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively create 3D models using 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to create 2D detailed drawings using CAD software.
  • Ability to control CAD files in PDM software.
  • Thorough understanding of CAD software.
