About the Role

TheARES test facility is seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to support efficient day-to-day functioning of the facility. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for ensuring timely payment of bills, managing procurement and shipping activities, overseeing the environmental, health & safety program and supporting various operational and test activities as required.

Responsibilities to Anticipate this Role

  • Order and receive all required materials, supplies and equipment to support range operations and barrel manufacturing. Liaise with suppliers, vendors and service providers to ensure on time delivery and timely payment
  • Process and track invoices for utilities and facility operations, ensuring timely payment of bills. Assist with budget monitoring and expense reporting.
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving of all material into and out of the facility to include hazmat, ammunition and explosives. Includes both domestic and international shipping.
  • Maintain and manage all records related to the acquisition, storage, use, and disposition of ammunition and weapons in accordance with federal regulations set forth by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Able to be listed as a responsible person on all ATF licenses.
  • Oversee the Environmental, Health and Safety Program to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Maintain and organize all EHS documentation, including processes, procedures, permits, inspection records, safety data sheets (SDS), training logs, and incident reports. Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
  • Participate in range activities for live fire testing, as required.


Qualifications Sought

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years experience sought in a similar role
  • Prior experience with Environmental, Health and Safety programs and regulations
  • Familiarity with ATF regulations and reporting requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities are essential, along with a keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently, multi-task, meet or exceed deadlines, and build strong team relationships with members of the communications and strategy teams
  • Microsoft Office experience including PowerPoint,Excel, etc


Additional Information / Desired Experience

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • This position may require the candidate to work both indoors and outdoors during any time of year. The candidate must be able toclimb on/off, work in, and work around test assets and military vehicles is desired.
  • Able to work overtime when required
  • Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position.
  • Prior knowledge or experience with ammunition handling, firearms, blast or ballistic testing is preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen
