Position Summary:
The Shipping Clerk ensures accurate movement, tracking, and documentation of all inbound and outbound materials while maintaining compliance with plant safety standards, inventory control processes, and customer requirements. The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in supporting production continuity through timely material flow and effective cross-functional communication.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, raw materials, and supplies in accordance with production and customer schedules.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips; escalate discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely system updates for all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and required physical inventories.
- Ensure proper labeling, scanning, and documentation of all materials.
- Maintain accurate logs of inbound and outbound shipments, including carrier information and delivery status.
- Follow all plant safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the materials and logistics function.
- Complete all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or warehouse management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills with a sense of urgency in a production-driven environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Education:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
