Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on IT Support & SharePoint Administrator to stabilize, organize, and support our Microsoft 365 environment—particularly SharePoint Online—while also providing day-to-day helpdesk support to end users.
This role is ideal for someone who can untangle messy SharePoint sites, permissions, and document libraries, bring structure and governance to collaboration tools, and still enjoy helping users resolve common technical issues.
You will work closely with IT leadership to correct existing SharePoint challenges, improve usability, and establish sustainable standards across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
SharePoint & Microsoft 365
- Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint Online issues, including:
- Broken permissions and access problems
- Confusing or inconsistent site and folder structures
- Duplicate files and uncontrolled document sprawl
- Reorganize and standardize SharePoint sites and document libraries
- Implement and maintain permission models aligned with security and compliance requirements
- Assist with SharePoint governance initiatives, including:
- Naming conventions
- Site ownership and access reviews
- Lifecycle and cleanup efforts
- Support Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and related M365 services as they integrate with SharePoint
- Assist with PowerShell-based reporting or audits related to SharePoint, Microsoft 365, or user access (non-destructive and read-only)
- Document SharePoint standards, procedures, scripts, and user guidance
Helpdesk & Technical Support
- Provide Level 1–2 helpdesk support for staff, including:
- Microsoft 365 application issues
- Email, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint access problems
- Account access and password issues
- Basic Windows and hardware troubleshooting
- Respond to support requests via ticketing system, email, and walk-ups
- Assist with new user onboarding and offboarding (accounts, access, permissions)
- Escalate complex issues when appropriate while maintaining ownership through resolution
General IT Support
- Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term fixes, not just temporary solutions
- Create and maintain internal IT documentation and knowledge base articles
- Assist with audits, reviews, and compliance-related IT tasks as needed
- Work collaboratively with IT leadership on system improvements and standardization
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 in a business environment
- Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online
- Experience troubleshooting permissions, access issues, and document libraries
- Understanding of the differences and proper use of SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
- Experience providing end-user helpdesk support
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work with non-technical users in a professional environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience cleaning up or reorganizing existing SharePoint Online environments
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security and compliance concepts
- Experience in a professional services, legal, or regulated environment
- Basic scripting or automation experience, preferably using PowerShell, to:
- Generate reports (CSV/Excel) for SharePoint sites, permissions, or users
- Assist with audits, access reviews, and administrative visibility
- Comfort running and modifying existing scripts with an understanding of non-destructive, read-only practices
- Familiarity with PowerShell modules related to Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Exchange Online, Microsoft Graph) is a plus
- Experience documenting technical processes and repeatable IT tasks
