Youth Workforce Specialist position for Ohio Means Jobs | Highland County
Highland County Community Action Organization Inc. has full time opening for a Youth
Workforce Specialist in the Ohio Means Jobs Highland County Office. This applicant will work
under the OhioMeansJobs Highland County Manager.
The Youth Workforce Specialist works with youth ages 14–24, families, schools, employers, and
community partners to support education, training, and employment outcomes. This role
provides case management, eligibility determination, assessments, career counseling, and job
readiness services through programs such as CCEMP, GRIT, and other workforce initiatives.
Key Duties Include:
Conduct intake, enrollment, assessments, and case management
Assist youth with job readiness, job search, and career planning
Maintain required documentation and complete follow-up services
Support workshops, employer engagement, and participant recruitment
Provide customer service support at the OhioMeansJobs Center
Travel to local schools and employment sites as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Social Work, Counseling, Education, or related field)
Experience in social services, workforce development, or career counseling preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Knowledge of local community, resources and businesses a plus.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and physical
Background check required
Valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Applicant must be able to bend, stoop, and lift over 40 pounds.
Work Location: OhioMeansJobs Center and HCCAO offices in Greenfield and Hillsboro
