MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school graduate or equivalent. Able to react in emergency situations. Proficient in typing, word processing, data processing and writing. Maintain proficiency in operation of office equipment. Continually maintain proficiency in all office programs. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Programs. Pre-employment testing required. Must have a valid Ohio Driver's license and operable vehicle. Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.

Description of the Job:
Under general supervision of the Child Support Supervisor I in the Child Support Enforcement Department. This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job. This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of qualifications, skills, efforts, duties, responsibilities or working conditions associated with the position.
FT Clerical Specialist — Department of Job and Family Services
Illustrative Duties:
- Resolves customer service issues in a call center environment through direct customer contact or with other state agencies, legal partners, etc., by phone, written correspondence, and e-mail
Returns messages from the public daily
Scan and sort mail daily - Processes Daily Payment Suspense List.
- Completes Excess Report monthly
- Processes Lump Sum requests
- Processes daily and monthly reports
- Performs specialized clerical tasks requiring use of multiple computations, cross-referencing data and information.
- Distributes CSEA faxes daily
- Processes Metro Verification requests
- Collect and distribute both daily and monthly reports to staff: Q Drive, Control D, and BIC reports.
- Reviews and processes reports; including, but not limited to; distribution cases; emancipations; adjustment reports; ensures accuracy of arrearages; clarifies discrepancies and certifies final data.
- Enters updates into computer system; adjusts court ordered amounts; identifies cases in system where cases are paid in full and close cases when appropriate; prepares files for legal action and testifies in court or at state hearings as needed.
- Gathers data via face-to-face interviews and other sources and/or reviews and prepares petitions, including those from IV-D agencies/jurisdictions for custodial parents (CPS)
- Interprets and reviews support orders, both judicial and administrative, for case review and entry into the system
- Calculates financial obligations and support balances related to child support accounts.
- Attends meetings, seminars and workshops as needed.

- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification's:
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and an operable vehicle.
- Minimum typing speed of 55 words per minute
Physical Requirements
- Alternate frequently between sitting/standing/walking throughout an eight (8) hour workday.
- Lift/carry a minimum of eight (8) pounds.
- Reaching with bilateral upper extremities into/up to/down to various heights.
- Push/pull with twenty (20) pounds of initial force.
- Climb onto stepladder (2 steps).
- Bend/squat/crouch kneel.
