Shift: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $21 – $23 per hour
Additional Hours: Overtime and weekend availability required as needed
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team on 1st shift. This position reports directly to the Quality Supervisor and plays a key role in keeping our manufacturing process on track. Day-to-day, you’ll be operating CMM and NDT equipment, inspecting welds under a microscope, using calipers and other precision tools, and performing visual inspections before and after E-coat. You’ll work closely with both production and engineering to make sure parts meet spec and any issues get flagged and addressed quickly.
Key Responsibilities
• CMM Operation & Programming: Set up, calibrate, and operate CMM equipment (Faro). Develop or modify CMM programs using 3D CAD models and 2D blueprints to certify in-process production.
• NDT Operation & Programming: Set up, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment as needed to certify in-process production.
• Dimensional Inspection: Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using CMMs and hand tools including micrometers and calipers.
• Weld & Visual Inspection: Inspect welds with a microscope and perform visual inspections of parts before and after E-coat using weld maps.
• GD&T Analysis: Interpret complex technical drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure parts conform to design intent.
• Data Reporting: Generate detailed inspection reports, document non-conformances (NCRs), and communicate findings to production and engineering teams.
• Root Cause Analysis: Help troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support corrective actions (CAPA) with accurate measurement data.
• Documentation: Complete and submit required quality documentation accurately and on time.
• Other Duties: Any other tasks assigned by supervisor/manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred; Engineering degree a plus
Experience & Technical Skills
• 2–5 years of experience in a precision manufacturing environment (automotive industry preferred)
• Experience with CMM software and equipment (Polyworks and Faro Arm preferred)
• Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5 standards)
• Experience using quality inspection tools and measurement equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
• Comfortable with math — algebra, geometry, and trig for calculating tolerances and dimensions
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Working Conditions
This is a shop floor position. Candidates should be comfortable with the following:
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Must be able to stand and walk for most of the shift
• Be able to work in a team environment.
• Bending, crouching, and reaching required to inspect parts and operate equipment
• Shop environment — temperatures may vary seasonally
• Noise exposure on the floor; PPE required
• Must wear required safety gear including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, sleeves, pants, and gloves.
