The truck driver training program at Classic Carriers is a win-win for those looking to start a career in truck driving while also keeping our driver pool full.
What is the driver training program at Classic Carriers?
- The best way to become a truck driver in Ohio.
- The program begins with the four to five week truck driving course at the Apollo Career Center in Lima, OH to earn a CDL.
- Tuition is fully paid by Classic Carriers and you will receive a $250 weekly stipend while in school.
After graduating school and earning a CDL, the new driver begins an approximate eight-week paid driver training program at Classic Carriers. The new driver is paired with a Classic Carriers' driver trainer who has been handpicked by our safety department. During the on-road training, you will receive $700 per week.
After trainer approval certified by a driving test with our safety director, the new driver comes on board as a solo company driver.

- Option #1 starting at $0.51 CPM with benefits accelerating to $0.58 CPM at 6 months

Driver Training Program Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- No speeding citations 15 MPH over in past 3 years, no felonies
- Must live within a 150-mile radius of Versailles, OH 45380 – including cities like Dayton, OH; Springfield, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Fort Wayne, IN; Muncie, IN; Richmond, IN; Findlay, OH, Upper Sandusky, OH; Defiance, OH; Van Wert, OH, Bellefontaine, OH; Kenton, OH
