Job Summary:

The Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of vehicles in compliance with all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and internal policies. This role requires a strong commitment to courtesy, customer service, and adherence to organizational standards.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Safe Vehicle Operation:
  • Operate vehicles only when they are in safe operating condition.
  • Ensure compliance with traffic laws and adjust for adverse weather or traffic conditions.
  • Prioritize safety by wearing seat belts, securing cargo, and locking vehicle doors.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Deliver prompt, high-quality assistance to members, staff, vendors, and both internal and external customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries efficiently and professionally.
  1. Communication:
  • Foster effective working relationships through transparent information-sharing and active collaboration.
  • Use strong verbal and written communication skills to promote clarity and understanding.
  1. Teamwork:
  • Collaborate within and across teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Build consensus, engage in cooperative problem-solving, and apply active listening skills to enhance team productivity.
  1. Driver Conduct:
  • Maintain physical and mental fitness for safe driving.
  • Respect the rights of pedestrians and other drivers; consistently demonstrate courtesy.
  • Avoid the use of drugs, alcohol, or substances that may impair driving ability.
  1. Incident Reporting and Compliance:
  • Report all accidents or vehicle damage to the supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in accident reviews to determine preventability based on internal guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean driving record as determined by Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks.
  1. Distracted Driving Policy Adherence:
  • Do not use mobile devices or engage in distracting activities while driving.
  • Comply with state laws and internal restrictions regarding mobile device usage.
  1. Vehicle Maintenance and Usage:
  • Promptly report vehicle defects or required repairs to management.
  • Ensure cargo is properly secured and the vehicle remains clean and functional.
  • Restrict unauthorized use of vehicles and comply with internal rules on passengers and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license meeting Ohio state requirements.
  • Clean driving record:
  • No more than two traffic violations or at-fault accidents for drivers aged 18–24 within the past three years.
  • No more than three traffic violations or at-fault accidents for drivers aged 25+ within the past three years.
  • No serious traffic offenses (e.g., DUI, reckless driving, felony violations) within the past three years.
  • Strong knowledge of Ohio traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Conditions:

  • Must maintain focus and perform well under pressure, always following safety procedures.

Violations of internal policies may result in disciplinary action, including reassignment or termination. A culture of accountability and professionalism is expected in all driving roles.
