HX5 is currently seeking a Software Engineer I to join our team in Brook Park, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC).


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will augment the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design and development of a data processing tool capable of importing data over various file formats into MATLAB. The tool output will be layouts for harnesses containing connectors, individual wires/signals, cabling, source, and termination information. They will also support data, design, and documentation reviews.

The selected candidate must have the following experience:

  • Background in data analysis using Excel and MATLAB 
  • Experience with document processing (PDF / JPEG) using MATLAB to extract information
  • Experience with C# code generation and integration of MATLAB executables
  • Experience generating technical documents  


Other Desired Skills:

  • Communicate technical information via report writing and digital presentations
  • Familiar with:
  • General Electrical Engineering
  • Microprocessor function and coding


Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in a related field, with the following combination of education and experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with one (1) to five (5) years of experience.


Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
