Plant Receiving Coordinator

Location: Brooklyn, OH

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Range: $22.90–$25.10 per hour

Available Shifts: First Shift or Second Shift

Position Summary

The Plant Receiving Coordinator supports steel receiving operations by coordinating inbound shipments via truck and rail, ensuring accurate material handling, and maintaining efficient workflow throughout the facility. This role works closely with delivery drivers, crane operators, and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate receipt of materials while identifying and resolving quality or documentation issues.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read shipment documentation are essential. Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial environment and following both written and verbal instructions.

Work Schedule Requirements

  • Hours may fluctuate based on business needs
  • Mandatory overtime may be required
  • Flexibility with scheduling is essential

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound steel shipments from truck and rail
  • Coordinate the flow of incoming delivery vehicles for efficient unloading
  • Communicate with delivery drivers to verify shipments and resolve discrepancies
  • Inspect incoming materials and identify quality issues or defects
  • Accurately read and verify shipment documentation, including bills of lading and rail paperwork
  • Record and label material information (including coil and tag data) accurately
  • Partner with customer service to resolve material or documentation issues
  • Safely coordinate and direct crane operations during material handling
  • Work safely in and around rail cars, when applicable
  • Submit maintenance requests for equipment or facility issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure and micrometer accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects
  • Ability to read and interpret shipment documentation and rail backups
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred but not required
