Material Handler

Location: Cleveland, OH

Schedule: Non‑Exempt

Position Overview

The Material Handler supports manufacturing and warehouse operations by safely moving, storing, and tracking materials throughout the facility. This role requires strong attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Move materials throughout receiving, production, storage, and shipping areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material‑handling equipment.
  • Safely load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, skids, and storage racks.
  • Prepare and palletize materials for storage or large outbound shipments.
  • Maintain material supply levels for production using Kanban, flag systems, pick lists, and communication with production teams.
  • Place materials in designated inventory or in‑process locations.
  • Perform real‑time inventory transactions using computer systems and wireless scanners.
  • Follow first‑in/first‑out (FIFO) inventory practices.
  • Inspect stored materials for proper packaging, cleanliness, and signs of deterioration.
  • Complete all inventory transactions accurately and in accordance with procedures.
  • Monitor storage areas for unauthorized material movement.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment.
  • Ability to operate shrink‑wrappers, banding tools, tape dispensers, and related packaging equipment.
  • Prior forklift training or certification.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Experience using ERP systems, barcodes, and scanners is preferred.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without employer‑sponsored work authorization.
  • Hourly pay range: $18.85 – $25.00, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
