Port Clinton Police Department – Port Clinton, OH

At the Port Clinton Police Department, we are committed to protecting and serving our community with integrity, professionalism, and pride. We are currently hiring dedicated and motivated Police Officers to join our team under a new contract with competitive pay and expanded opportunities.

Compensation:

We offer top-tier pay based on experience level:

  • Lateral Officers (5+ years): $40.79/hour + shift premium
  • Lateral Officers (2–5 years): $37.46/hour + shift premium
  • Certified Officers (less than 2 years): $34.06/hour + shift premium
  • Shift differential of up to $1.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce local, state, and federal laws
  • Patrol assigned areas to maintain public safety
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Conduct investigations and prepare detailed reports
  • Engage with the community to build trust and partnerships
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Qualifications:

  • Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certification required
  • Lateral applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of law enforcement experience
  • Candidates with less than 2 years of experience must complete the National Testing Network (NTN) exam
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
