Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Service Technician I
As a Service Technician I you will be responsible for loading and/or unloading drums and containers from trucks and processing and/or storing hazardous waste materials.
- Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
- Loads and/or unloads drums and containers from trucks; processes and/or stores hazardous waste materials
- Weighs and breaks down large containers into smaller containers for processing
- Completes inspections and mechanical placement of drums on conveyor and completes the manual placement of buckets from pallet to carriage
- Drives forklift to retrieve drums and containers from storage and operates computer and conveyor
- Transports and positions trailers and tankers for collection of slag and ash
- Pumps liquid out of containers and transfers material from tank using a centrifugal pump
- Maintains a clean work area and completes basic housekeeping tasks
- Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
Education
- High-school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience
- Previous experience operating a fork truck (preferred)
- HAZWOPER certificate or previous fire-fighting experinece (preferred)
