Job Description Summary

The Coordinator of Football Operations is responsible for the organization and execution of all administrative and operational aspects of a collegiate football program. This position ensures the efficient coordination of team logistics including travel, scheduling, compliance, and daily budget operations. The role supports the coaching staff and student-athletes by managing internal processes, fostering communication, and maintaining adherence to NCAA and institutional regulations. Additionally, the position plays a critical role in enhancing the overall student-athlete experience through effective planning and program support.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Football Operations & Logistics Management
  • Coordinate all team travel including transportation, lodging, meals, and itineraries for away contests and special events.
  • Develop and distribute detailed daily, weekly, and game-day schedules for coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
  • Organize home game operations including facility setup, credentialing, and coordination with game management staff.
  • Serve as liaison with equipment, facilities, video, and athletic training staff to ensure operational readiness.
  • Manage team calendars, meeting schedules, and internal communication systems to ensure program efficiency.
  • Work primarily with tight ends and running backs preferred.
  1. Compliance & Administrative Coordination
  • Ensure adherence to NCAA Division II, conference, and institutional rules and regulations in all operational activities.
  • Assist with documentation and reporting related to recruiting, travel, and program operations.
  • Coordinate official and unofficial visits in collaboration with coaching staff and compliance office.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities, budgets, and operational expenditures.
  • Serve as primary point of contact between football program and campus departments (compliance, academics, business office, financial aid office).
  1. Student-Athlete Support & Program Operations
  • Support student-athlete experience by coordinating meals, housing logistics, and program-related services.
  • Assist with onboarding of new student-athletes including orientation and integration into program structure.
  • Collaborate with academic services to monitor and support student-athlete academic progress.
  • Coordinate team events including camps, community engagement, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support to coaching staff to enhance overall program effectiveness.


Minimum Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 1. Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level

2. Knowledge of coaching strategies, recruiting, eligibility rules, River States Conference and NCAA eligibility

3. Knowledge of workings of higher education in regards to student retention and progress towards graduation

4. Good communication skills to speak with recruits, parents, and students

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration, Coaching, or a related field

2-3 years of experience in higher education

First Aid, CPR, AED
