Sales & Engineering Support Coordinator

Report to: Director of Engineering

Position Type: Full – Time

Salary: $26.00 – $33.50

Position Summary

The Sales & Engineering Support Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the successful flow of information, orders, and technical requirements between clients, the sales team, engineering, and internal operations. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate order entry, coordinating technical documentation, supporting quoting and engineering activities, and managing project communication from initial request through production readiness.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining clear and professional communication with both internal teams and external clients. This role requires the ability to understand technical information, translate client needs into actionable internal requirements, and proactively identify potential issues before they impact delivery timelines or client satisfaction.

This position works cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and production to ensure accurate information flow and efficient project execution.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Order Entry & Order Management

  • Receive, review, and process incoming orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Verify order specifications, including materials, dimensions, quantities, and delivery requirements
  • Generate, organize, and maintain comprehensive order documentation, including sales orders, purchase orders, and shipping instructions
  • Enter release details into the order processing system, including specific product configurations, quantities, and delivery dates
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all sales order releases, including documentation related to product specifications, customer requirements, and order changes

Sales & Engineering Support

  • Collaborate with sales team to facilitate communication with customers, ensuring their needs are met effectively
  • Collaborate with engineering team to provide product information and specifications to customers
  • Coordinate with production, inventory, and logistics teams to prioritize and schedule orders for manufacturing and delivery
  • Engineering Change Order (ECO) Input

Client & Cross-Functional Communication

  • Direct contact with clients, addressing questions, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally
  • Address inquiries from customers related to product availability, pricing, lead times, and technical details
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve concerns or issues related to orders, product quality, or service

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve order processing, project tracking, and communication workflows.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures related to order entry, engineering documentation, and project coordination.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative, sales support, project coordination, or engineering support role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience using ERP, CRM, or order management systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering-driven environment.
  • Proficient in understanding technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Exposure to project coordination or project management responsibilities.
  • Experience working with ERP systems used in manufacturing environments

Work Environment

  • Office-based role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Regular interaction with engineering, production, and sales teams.
  • May require occasional visits to production areas to review products, specifications, or engineering details.
