Position: Court Investigator
Agency: Licking County Domestic Relations Court
Minimum Qualifications: Qualified individuals must be 21 years of age and must possess a high school diploma and valid Ohio driver’s license. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related area of study, or licensure as a social worker is preferred. Knowledge or understanding of Juvenile Court or Domestic Relations Court case processes and procedures is also beneficial. General knowledge of computer processing programs and other related computer programs.
Hours: Part-time OR variable depending on the needs of the Court.
Summary: The Court seeks an individual to conduct investigations as to the living situation of minor children. Position responsibilities include meeting with and observing families as directed by a written motion and order of a litigant, an attorney or on the Court’s own motion.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Duties: Conduct inspections to investigate the living situations of minor children in open cases as directed.
Meet with parties to cases and their associates. Contact with schools and other agencies that may have involvement with the family. Formulate comprehensive reports for the Court’s and litigants’ information. Make appropriate referrals to community resources to assist parties and children in addressing specific needs. Testify in court hearings as required to verify contents of report. Administer drug tests as directed by the Court.
Other duties as assigned.
