Position: Wastewater Plant Superintendent

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing all operations, maintenance, and personnel at a 20 MGD wastewater treatment facility. This senior-level role ensures efficient plant performance, regulatory compliance, and effective staff management while supporting continuous improvement of plant processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee administration, operation, and maintenance of the entire wastewater
• treatment facility
• Supervise plant personnel and manage daily operations and staffing schedules
• Maintain detailed records including daily logs and operational reports
• Prepare and submit state and federal reports, including compliance and sludge disposal reports
• Monitor plant performance and recommend process improvements for efficiency and compliance
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical solutions to maintain discharge standards
• Coordinate maintenance activities, pilot studies, and process modifications
• Train staff on operational procedures, safety standards, and certification requirements
• Evaluate employee performance, address concerns, and support staff development
• Assist in budget preparation and participate in hiring and interview processes

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License required
• Valid Ohio EPA Class IV Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate required
• Ability to pass a drug screen
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in complex situations
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
