The Boardman Township Park District is seeking to hire a dependable and hardworking Groundskeeper / Maintenance team member to be responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and attractive park grounds and facilities. This role supports landscaping, general maintenance, and event operations while providing excellent customer service to park visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Mow, trim, and maintain lawns, fields, and landscaped areas
Plant, water, fertilize, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees
Remove litter, weeds, and debris from park grounds and facilities
Perform seasonal duties such as snow removal and leaf cleanup
Complete basic maintenance tasks (painting, carpentry, etc.)
Repair and maintain park structures including benches, tables, fences, and playgrounds
Assist with athletic field preparation and upkeep
Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, tractors, trucks, trimmers, and power tools
Inspect, clean, and report equipment issues
Assist with setup, support, and cleanup for park events and programs
Follow all safety procedures and park policies
Schedule
Flexible scheduling required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
This is a Part-time / Temporary / Summer Position offering 25 – 30 hours per week

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience is a plus
Valid Ohio driver’s license required
Must be able to pass a background check
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally)
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform manual labor for extended periods
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Environment
This position involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions and exposure to noise, dust, and equipment operation.
