REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be available the entire work period of 7/1/6-4/30/27. Must agree to 35 hr work week. Employer will provide transportation from employer provided living quarters to work site every day. Must read, and agree to, all terms and conditions of employment prior to a referral to the employer.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 2 months of verifiable experience in all job duties. This job requires exposure to extreme temperatures, ability to lift 60 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, frequent stooping, extensive pushing and pulling.


JOB DUTIES: Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Crops/Commodities: beets, cabbage, carrots, garlic, onions, potatoes, squash. Primary duties (performed the majority of workdays): Grade, size, and sort product according to color, shape, size, appearance, feel, and/or quality, in accordance with supervisor's instructions and employer standards. Inspect products for damage/defects and discard inferior products and foreign matter. Place product in bins/trays and other containers according to grade and mark grades on containers. Weigh products and record weight and/or grade. Handle product carefully to prevent damage. Operate equipment safely, with or without direction. Must follow quality control standards and production procedures. Clean/sanitize work station and equipment. Work on production line to pack product by hand or with mechanized equipment, including but not limited to bagging machines, bin feeders, box machines, labeling machines, regular and high stacking forklifts. Pack/bunch/bundle product pursuant to supervisor instructions. Fill bins/trays and other containers with product, level bins, and prepare product for shipment to market or storage. Perform quality control on inbound/outbound loads. Follow quality control standards and production procedures. Lift, carry, and load/unload products or supplies. Palletize and stack boxes/containers. Move product to storage areas and/or loading areas to prepare for shipping. Keep material and product records accurately. Assist with regular maintenance on equipment. Must have sufficient hand and finger dexterity to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Must be able to differentiate colors, textures, and other attributes of product to distinguish varieties and identify defects. While the primary duties of the workers will be those of the pack shed, some workers may drive trucks to haul crops as outlined in 45-2091 (Agricultural Equipment Operator). All crop hauling duties will be done on a voluntary basis and is not a requirement of the job. Workers that are hauling crops will be driving company provided box trucks that have a gross vehicle weight under 26,001 pounds and do not require a special license to operate. Workers that are driving box trucks must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. A clean driving record has no disqualifying factors under applicable law or under employer's motor vehicle insurance policy. Examples of disqualifying factors include, but are not limited to, conviction for driving under the influence, driving while impaired or the occurrence of a serious at-fault accident. Workers must operate all equipment properly and in a manner that protects operator, others, the employer's products and property. Failure to comply with safety requirements and operating instructions may result in disciplinary action up to and including immediate termination. Supervisor(s) will provide instructions and directions to workers. Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual, complex or non-routine activities will be supervised. Workers expected to perform basic duties in a proficient manner without close supervision. Job opportunity is Skill Level I. All primary duties are entry-level and require close supervision and/or a short demonstration of the task by a more experienced worker. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker's Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. TERMINATION. Prior to any termination for cause, employer evaluates workers' performance of required tasks and compliance with Work Rules and other employer policies.


EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:


BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.


HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.


TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SITE: The employer will provide transportation for all workers living in the employer-provided housing to and from the daily work site(s).


WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: Provided.


TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
