Key Job Responsibilities:
· Leads and coordinates engineering projects by defining technical objectives, and identifying design needs related to component geometry, installation constraints, dimensional tolerances, and material specifications.
· Provides advanced technical support to customers by conducting root cause analyses of mechanical and electrical elevator components, identifying failures due to engineering design, manufacturing defects, and installation errors.
· Inspects manufactured components to ensure material conformity and readiness for installation, including but not limited to verification of steel grades, paint specifications, and results from non-destructive testing methods.
· Executes on-site technical interventions and communicates improvement data to the Research & Development team to support product innovation and iterative design improvements.
· 70% travel to unanticipated customer sites located within North America for business meetings and to provide client service.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 48 months of experience in technical support of electro-mechanical products, such as Mechanical Engineering Technologists and Technicians
- 36 months of experience in technical support within the elevator industry
- Proficiency in mechanical and electronic systems, including practical application in troubleshooting and system integration
- Experience working with multi-national companies in an international environment
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply industry standards and customer-provided documentation, including written instructions, technical drawings, and verbal communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with experience in ERP systems for data management, reporting, and workflow coordination
- Experience working within 2D and 3D modeling environments, specifically for design validation, conversion, and technical documentation
