Job Summary:
The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating a CNC Machine throughout day-to-day production while maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping accurate data records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Essential Functions:
- Complete appropriate paperwork with total accuracy.
- Enters data into data collection terminal and clocks in and out of jobs appropriately to insure accurate time tracking from job to job.
- Communicates verbally or receives written instructions from previous machine operator or set-up personnel in regards to production needs.
- Assures measuring equipment is correct for specific job with assistance of supervisors.
- Loads/unloads parts from machines at efficiency greater than or equal to 90% of the production rate with less than 1% scrap/reject rate.
- Complete required quality checks on finished product. If quality does not meet the standards, stop the machine and makes adjustments, repairs and/or notify supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor of any major incidence of recurring equipment malfunction or poor quality, raw material or production.
- Deburr, package and keep accurate count of completed products on each run. Coordinates finished product with material handler/shipping.
- Record and dispose of defects in accordance to company policy.
- Clean equipment, inspect inserts, check oil and coolant levels at the beginning, during and end of each shift.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Cleans and lubricates equipment
- Sweeps up around equipment and machine at end of shift and during down-time
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Job Qualifications:
- Ability to follow oral or written instruction; ability to complete required paperwork.
- Job involves standing most of the shift
- Dexterity in using hand tools; ability to perform while wearing safety glasses.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to work 10-hour shift, 4 days per week. Overtime may be required per management’s discretion.
