Job Summary:
The Lead Set-Up Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to produce parts by due date and supervise machine operators under minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee/assist machine operators as needed.
- Report necessary disciplinary actions to department supervisors when policy/procedures are violated.
- Perform necessary set-ups/tool changes/other machining operations as needed.
- Assist in training personnel on machining codes/safety procedures and company policies.
- Complete appropriate paperwork with total accuracy.
- Enters data into data collection terminal and clocks in and out of jobs appropriately to insure accurate time tracking from job to job.
- Communicates verbally or receives written instructions from previous machine operator or other personnel in regards to production needs.
- Assures measuring equipment is correct for specific jobs.
- Deburr, package and keep accurate count of completed products on each run. Coordinates finished product with material handler/shipping.
- Record and dispose of defects in accordance to company policy.
- Clean equipment, inspect inserts, check oil and coolant levels at the beginning, during and end of each shift.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Job Qualifications:
- Ability to follow oral or written instruction; ability to complete required paperwork
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems
- Previous Set-Up experience is required
- Job involves standing most of the shift
- Dexterity in using hand tools; ability to perform while wearing safety glasses
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to work 10-hour shift, 4 days per week. Overtime may be required per management’s discretion.
