Job Description
Transportation Engineer 1/Transportation Civil Engineer (TCE), Construction Department, PNs 20054080, 20056253, 20054069
Work Location: District 4 Headquarters, 2088 South Arlington Road, Akron, OH 44306
Transportation Engineer 1 hire will complete ODOT’s Transportation Civil Engineering Program to include a 12 month training plan & scheduled rotation through the department’s core engineering disciplines; Planning & Engineering, Construction and Highway Maintenance.

- You will receive hands-on transportation training & experience needed to further your career as an engineer with ODOT.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.

All bargaining unit and exempt new hires to ODOT must serve a one-year probationary period.
If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the contract.
This position is overtime eligible per FLSA Standards.

May require travel where employee must provide own transportation; may be exposed to unsafe conditions when
conducting inspections; may work varying hours.
