Position Description:
Richland County Job & Family Services is seeking applicants for the position of Social Service Worker 1 assigned to Child Care.
Responsibilities include determining eligibility for publicly funded child care services, conducting compliance inspections in the homes of publicly subsidized in-home child care providers, and providing back-up coverage in Non-Emergency Transportation on an as needed basis.
Minimum Requirements:
· Completion of coursework in a major field of study such as social work, sociology, psychology, etc.; or
· Six (6) months experience as a Social Service Worker 1 or equivalent in child welfare, mental health, developmental disabilities, etc.; or
· Completion of an associate degree in social work (or a related field) with equivalent training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree in a relevant field; excellent communication skills

Salary: $18.43 - $18.98 per hour, based on education
